Hello.

I am organic food grower in a London kitchen garden. But, I also work in sustainable textiles too. Wanting to understand the origin and lifecycle of our stuff, I have always been inquisitive. Becoming a gardener allowed me to recognise and appreciate the symbiosis that occurs all around us. In an overwhelming world of stuff, by exploring the act of making in a way that is positive and reciprocal, I feel fulfilled and with a purpose.

Find here my projects that consider the anthropology of this stuff; research into circular design principles, benefit of utilising existing resources, opportunities in non-standard materials. Making, doing stuff with our hands, experimenting - it is what we have evolved to do, and so without this, we can feel lost. By creating with reciprocity in mind, we can regenerate, educate and enjoy the process along the way.

You will also find a blog. It is a myriad of thoughts: material innovation and heritage, exhibitions, running adventures, diary of my garden days. Hopefully you will learn something that can be shared with another, or that at least you are brought some joy. If you would like to subscribe to be updated of new content, I suggest following via Substack: Food-Fibre-Fashion (for that specific content) or Hot Water Bottle (for more personal reflections). Alternatively Iā€™m on LinkedIn and Medium.

And if you would in fact like to receive guidance and support in better navigating the complexities of the fibre and food systems, I am able to offer consultancy services.

My main focus is to educate everyday folk on the interconnectedness of our food, fibre and fashion systems through community courses and workshops. Digital courses are in development, with events to come. Nature connection workshops run through the warmer summer months.
