Bookmark - Hapa Zome
Lightweight white card bookmark printed with petals using the Hapa Zome technique, then wrapped at one end with cotton thread.
It has also been stamped with the Steele Studio logo on the plain back, and seed logo on the front.
Measurements: 3cm x 21cm.
The threads came from a spinning mills’ colour card, something that would have ordinarily been binned by a design studio. The plants were grown in my own garden, featuring cosmos petals, viola, passionflower and aster. The card is a standard card!

Considering the cost per bookmark for labour and materials is £1.40, an additional stipend of £0.60 has been added to cover overheads and fees.

The ecoprinting will fade over time in sunlight and will likely react to the natural oils in your fingers as you handle the bookmark. However, take the ephemerality and use as a sign of how much you’ve read! Once done with you can pop the bookmark in the compost due to the natural materials used (though the thread has been synthetically-dyed, and you may not like that for your compost).

A tiny piece of recycled tissue paper will be used to keep the bookmark safe during its journey to you. If you choose not to purchase anything else, this will be shipped in a standard envelope.
